Here it goes again!

A magician boasts that he can stay underwater for 3-5 minutes using no equipments (we're talking about real life, so don't think about him using magic). But there was a kid that said that he could stay underwater for 10 minutes or longer without using any equipments. The magician said that if he could do that, he would give him P10,000. The kid did it and won the prize (he is still alive and didn't drown)and . How did that happen?

I know this one haha, there's a water in a container, a glass for example. Then the kid placed it above his head for 10 mins or more
